Biography

My work focuses on the water governance through the lens of historical political ecology. My master’s thesis investigated the colonial history of central New Mexico’s water system and recent social movements for water rights based around the acequias outside Albuquerque. My dissertation research builds on that work to consider the implementation and effects of Chile’s neoliberal water system, with attention to democratizing social movements and the unfolding impacts of ongoing drought.

I work also in critical university studies to analyze the political economy of universities, and the UC in particular. On that subject and others, I write regularly for non-academic publications.
