The Geography Department hosts a graduation ceremony for eligible Geography Graduate, MAGIST and Undergraduate students to be individually recognized.

Please arrive in your cap and gown to register on site for the ceremony beginning by 8:00am.
COMMENCEMENT TICKETS ARE REQUIRED FOR BOTH STUDENTS & GUESTS
Students are required to confirm their attendance for the event by ordering a ticket online via MyUCLA at no charge. Students may order tickets online via MyUCLA’s Commencement Feature starting May 10. The first 4 guest tickets are complimentary. IF EXTRA TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE, additional tickets may be purchased at $20 each after May 31 through the geography department. Do not inquire about extra tickets until AFTER May 31.
Graduating MAGIST students, please contact the department’s SAO Jenée Misraje – jenee@geog.ucla.edu to confirm your attendance and to request your tickets.
All ticket orders will be delivered via the student’s email address on record. Please be sure to check your spam folder since tickets are often delivered there. To prepare for ticket distribution you may add tickets@cto.ucla.edu as part of your safe sender list. You will be receiving two emails per ceremony, one containing your student graduate ticket and the other with your guest tickets.
ON THE DAY of the event, please be ready to present tickets upon entry – both you and your guests must present tickets for entry. So, be sure to be on the lookout for the two emails from tickets@cto.ucla.edu. If you or your guests do not have access to a smartphone, you may present a printed out copy of the PDF.
UNDERGRADUATE GRADUATION CHECKLIST
- Sign up for an iGrad Workshop,for graduating seniors preparing for commencement and graduation
- Update your Degree Expected Term if you haven’t yet done so on MyUCLA!
- Check your DAR for Degree Completionto make sure all major/minor requirements are complete or in progress (IP). If any are unexpectedly “incomplete” please contact the Geography SAO

ALL STUDENTS – ON GRADUATION DAY
- All graduates please arrive in cap and gown!
Students must arrive in their cap and gown to the ceremony location.
- A designated registration table will be set-up for all students to complete a name card for the ceremony.
- Graduates will be asked to line-up by before the processionand will walk the procession and be seated in a special separate section closest to the front of the stage
- Guest seating is not reserved and offered on a first-come, first-served basis
- GradImageswill provide professional photography services, allowing students to purchase individual photographs at a later date
- The ceremony normally lasts 1 ½ hours, no more than 2 hours
