Camille studies California’s urban forests. Currently, she is working on using computer vision to assess ways to track changes in urban canopy over time using both active and passive remote sensing products across California. Previous research has focused on the distribution of California’s native trees, the composition of species and trees growing in California’s urban forests, the development of a neural network to predict the location of every tree in urban California, mapping cacao in the Amazon, how street tree biodiversity might predict urban temperatures, tracking changes in kelp canopy over time, and using UAVs to monitor intertidal zones.
Camille is advised by Dr. Tom Gillespie.
