Biography
My research involves the examination of the connections between past, present, and future wildfires in the state of California, primarily through the use of sediment coring. Additional research aims of mine are to examine the spatial variability in wildfires in modern times in the state, and to “connect paleo to policy” in a way that can reduce the harmful impacts that wildfires have, while remaining cognizant that fires are a natural, and even essential part of ecological health in Mediterranean climates.
